Overview
Pawgnosis is a multi-pet health and symptom journal operated by Digital Source. In this policy, “Pawgnosis,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Digital Source and the Pawgnosis application and website. “You” refers to the person using Pawgnosis.
Pawgnosis helps you record observations and organize information to discuss with a veterinary professional. It is not a veterinary practice, emergency service, diagnostic tool, or substitute for professional medical advice. By using Pawgnosis, you acknowledge the practices described in this policy.
A note about your pet’s health information
Information we collect
We collect information you choose to provide and limited information needed to keep Pawgnosis working.
Account information
Your name, email address, sign-in details, and account preferences.
Pet profiles
Names, species, breed, age, weight, photos, and other profile details you add.
Journal information
Symptoms, notes, medications, dosages, reminders, visits, vaccinations, and vet details.
Messages and requests
Information you include when you contact Digital Source for support or privacy requests.
We may also receive device and usage information, such as device type, operating system, app version, crash information, general diagnostics, and notification tokens when you enable reminders. We do not intentionally collect precise location, your contact list, browsing history outside Pawgnosis, or financial account numbers.
Push Notifications
If you allow notifications, Pawgnosis sends push notifications such as medication and vaccination reminders and important account updates. To do this, we share your device's push token and your Pawgnosis user ID with our notification provider, OneSignal, which delivers notifications through Apple Push Notification service on iOS and Firebase Cloud Messaging on Android. We do not use push notifications for third-party advertising.
Notifications are optional. You can turn them off at any time in your device settings (on iOS: Settings → Notifications → Pawgnosis; on Android: Settings → Apps → Pawgnosis → Notifications). Turning them off doesn't affect your ability to use the app. If you delete your account, we stop sending notifications and remove your user ID from our notification provider.
How we use information
We use information only for purposes connected to operating, protecting, and improving Pawgnosis, including to:
- Create and maintain your account and pet profiles.
- Save, organize, search, and display your journal entries and health history.
- Provide reminders, reports, trend views, and other features you request.
- Power Dr. Paws insights when you choose to submit information for analysis.
- Respond to support requests and send essential service communications.
- Diagnose crashes, prevent misuse, protect the service, and improve reliability.
- Meet legal obligations and enforce our terms or protect users and the public.
Dr. Paws and AI features
Meet Dr. Paws
An informational companion for your journal
When you use Dr. Paws, the symptom descriptions, notes, and related pet health entries you choose to submit are processed to generate summaries, surface possible patterns, and suggest questions to discuss with your veterinarian. We use secure, vetted AI infrastructure to provide this feature.
- Dr. Paws provides general information and organization, not a diagnosis, treatment plan, or emergency assessment.
- Do not rely on Dr. Paws for urgent concerns. Contact a veterinarian or an emergency animal hospital when your pet may be in danger.
- You choose when to use the feature. If you do not request an insight, your journal entry is not sent for that AI analysis.
- AI processing is limited to providing the requested feature. Your submitted content is not used by Digital Source to train a general-purpose AI model.
- AI responses can be incomplete or wrong. Review them carefully with a licensed veterinarian before making care decisions.
Retention and deletion
We keep information for as long as needed to provide Pawgnosis, maintain legitimate business and security records, resolve disputes, and meet legal requirements. The exact period depends on the type of information and how actively you use the service.
Your control
You can delete pets, entries, reminders, and other records through the features available in the App.
Account deletion
You can delete your account in the App or request deletion online, as described in “Deleting Your Account” below. You can also email the address in the Contact section.
We verify deletion requests and generally complete them within 30 days. Some limited information may remain in backups for a reasonable period or be retained when the law requires it. Information stored only on your device may remain until you remove it from the App or delete the App.
Deleting Your Account
You can delete your account at any time in the app under Settings → Delete Account, or by requesting deletion at pawgnosis.app/delete-account. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, pets, health records, and Dr. Paws conversations. Deleting your account does not cancel an active subscription; cancel it separately through the App Store or Google Play.
Security
Digital Source uses commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, and destruction. These measures may include access controls, encryption in transit using TLS/HTTPS, and monitoring for suspicious activity.
Security is shared responsibility
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export personal information we hold about you. You may also be able to restrict or object to certain processing, withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, and request an explanation of an automated decision where applicable.
California residents may have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, correct, and receive equal service. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined by California law.
Residents of the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland may have rights under applicable data protection law, including the right to complain to a supervisory authority. Our processing may rely on consent, contract performance, legitimate interests, or legal obligations, depending on the activity.
To make a request, email adrian@digitalsource.store. We may ask for information needed to verify your identity and will respond as required by applicable law. You can disable push notifications in your device settings or within the App where that option is available.
Children’s privacy
Pawgnosis is not directed to children under 13, or the applicable age of digital consent in your region. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.
Policy changes
We may update this Privacy Policy as Pawgnosis changes or as legal requirements evolve. When a change is material, we will update the date at the top of this page and may provide additional notice in the App or by email when appropriate. Your continued use of Pawgnosis after an updated policy becomes effective means you acknowledge the revised policy.
